1) Should the people of British
Columbia have a voice on the principles of the Nisgaa
Treaty through a province wide referendum?
Yes-75%
2) With the information you now
have about the Treaty, how should your federal MP vote
when it comes before Parliament in Ottawa?
Only 17% -Vote in favour
This agreement does not grant
to the Nisgaa people the property rights that the
rest of us enjoy
Nisgaa women are left unprotected
by this legislation
the Charter of Rights takes a
backseat to Nisgaa law. These are just a few examples
of the shortcomings of this treaty. The Nisgaa are
definitely not better off.
"Could you imagine if legislation
was introduced in Parliament that said all property in
Canada would be owned by the government, no individual
can hold title to the house they live in. You will be
taxed regardless of race, however only those of a certain
race are entitled to vote.
